This is what Ex President Obama said about Rahul Gandhi in his book Promised Land

There is a furore over what Ex President of USA Barak Obama has written about Rahul Gandhi in his book, Promised Land. Actually the way he has written, is very dismissive of India. Here is an extract from Chapter 24 of the Book

Most of all, India’s politics still revolved around religion, clan, and caste. In that sense, Singh’s elevation as prime minister, sometimes heralded as a hallmark of the country’s progress in overcoming sectarian divides, was somewhat deceiving. He hadn’t originally become prime minister as a result of his own popularity. In fact, he owed his position to Sonia Gandhi—the Italian-born widow of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi and the head of the Congress Party, who’d declined to take the job herself after leading her party coalition to victory and had instead anointed Singh. More than one political observer believed that she’d chosen Singh precisely because as an elderly Sikh with no national political base, he posed no threat to her forty-year-old son, Rahul, whom she was grooming to take over the Congress Party.

While I was dozing!

pink-wild-flowerYesterday was a busy day. In the afternoon I dozed off for an hour. It was business as usual thereafter. This morning I discovered that ‘sandeep bhalla’ has become a news item. Somebody from Jalandhar, who share my name had posted morphed photographs of Signora Presidentessa of ruling Congress Party of India, Sonia Gandhi onto Facebook. Morphing pictures is not always palatable. Though many morphed videos of Prime Minister and also Sonia Gandhi were in circulation and on Youtube, for many years, yet as a reflection of maturity, the Government took no action. Indian Government never learns from Past Mistakes

Release of Italian Marines on Bail

Two Italian marines were accused of killing fishermen in Indian Coastal Waters. While they were on trial they sought to be released on bail which evidently was refused by courts below. Supreme Court of India granted bail on the assurance of Italian Government that the prisoners shall be returned after they cast their vote in Italy. They have to return on 22nd March 2013. But they have already refused. It is everywhere in news papers.

Sicilian by Mario Puzo

Mario Puzo is known for his famous work God Father. However he had written many more novels. His actual best was Sicilian. It is a novel about oppression of poor by rich/nobles and how an oppressed becomes a bandit or out-law. At one place he writes “This is Sicily. Here there can be treachery within treachery.” The fact is that at the climax he creates such a web of treachery. But we can not judge people of entire nation by a novelists opinion. How truthful is the truth

I have come across certain amazing allegations against the leading lady of India‘s leading political party. The problem is, in the absence of comments from the other side it should be presumed to be true. But is it so. Will somebody come forward and give some other version of truth if it exists, or should we believe it? It claims that the MP gave wrong/false declaration to the Parliament. Is it true?

Who is Sonia?

Antonia is Sonia’s real name in her birth certificate. Sonia is the name given to her subsequently by her father, Stefano Maino [now deceased] following his return from Russia where he had been a prisoner of war. Stefano had joined the Nazi army as a volunteer. Sonia is a Russian not Italian name. While spending two years in a Russian jail, Sonia’s father had become quite pro-Soviet; especially after the liberating US army in Italy had confiscated all fascists’ properties including his.Second, she was not born in Orbassano as she claims in her bio data submitted to Parliament on becoming MP, but in Luciana, as stated in her birth certificate. She perhaps would like to hide the place of her birth because of her father’s connection with the Nazis and Mussolini’s Fascists, and her family’s continuing connections with the Nazi-Fascists underground that is still surviving since 1945 in Italy. Luciana is where Nazi-Fascist network is headquartered, and is on the Italian-Swiss border. Will somebody come forward to deny it? Are people entitled to know the truth?

In the spirit of democracy: may be, legally perhaps under RTI Act because it is a question which can be raised by a member of parliament as lying to house is a breach of privilege of house but will some body raise this question? I do not know.
