Maya: The enchanting illusion of blogging.

Maya is a Sanskrit word which is often used in Hindu Mythology and scriptures to define the phenomenon called ‘the World.’ A variety of translations or interpretation of this word exist and are being propounded. It however appears to me that real meaning of word ‘Maya’ is ‘enchanting illusion.’ To explain it is an illusion which not only look real but appear to be there when it is not. A kind of backward Mirage of past, extending into present. To exemplify, the Blogging efforts made by some bloggers.

Blogging: Serious risk in reading blogs!

Peeping into personal lives of others, is an ultimate human adventure. We love to see and judge. Even if we rename judging as helping/advising/learning. But the fact remains. Personal blogging gives an opportunity to see inside the mind of blogger albeit through a prism of myriad words which we may or may not understand.
My suggestion to all self-righteous, pious, noble, moral, religious, pure, honest, holy, emotionally unstable, depressed, anxious, di-polarised etc. people is not to read others’ blogs. It may shock them. Forcing them to cry or even more send them in shock, anxiety, despair or depression. Continue reading

Blogging: Why bother to write when we can recycle content?

Education is all about ability to perceive facts, from reading about it, as against actually watching it to happen. To be a good reader, requires two things. First is the knowledge of the language and second is ability to imagine. Reading and daydreaming goes hand in hand. Reading, like all things, often becomes an obsession, but that is another matter.
Writing is an extension of reading. Writing also involves two things. First command over the language and second is clarity of perception of thought. Writing transforms the abstract thought into tangible words. Continue reading

Blogging: Writing in a lousy week! What and how to write?

According to the standards believed to be in vogue, this was a lousy fortnight. Nothing in particular, but nothing actually happened. We live with hopes and habits of results. There was no result in this fortnight. The weather was struck in limbo. As if the winter got struck in a gridlock. The snowfall in Kashmir seems to have gone in vain. We could feel winter without shivering. May be rain will smooth things up for winter. And finally it rained yesterday, to calm the things down. Numerous queries no final picture. Continuance, postponement and adjournments. The truth is: What is wrong with that? No result is better than a challenging result. But mind loves results. Living can wait. Result, we want, yesterday.

After 7 more drafts in the kitty, just one could make it to the grand finale of meeting the readers. There are many (or perhaps most of) blogging tips I could never follow; i.e. to complete a post in one go. That is impossible. Thoughts are not delivered in Pizza Boxes, completely dressed. Writing a blog post in one go is like taking a bath with one motion of hand. Or may be as one blogger proudly declared that he is defecating in public. It appears that it depends upon the reason for blogging. So why blog?
A short story will not be out-of-place. Continue reading

Why blog? Why follow blogging tips and Blog Guru?

Blog is understandably short name (portmanteau) for weblog. In other words it is a daily journal or diary. Few weeks back a blogger compared his blogging to ‘defecating in public.’ It must be very simple and automatic affair for him. To me, as I said earlier, it is a diary of my synthesised thoughts. It is a store house of useful links, pictures, ideas, knowledge and people. It is not constant. It keeps changing.
Since my perception about various things can be wrong, these posts are an invitation to correction. Knowledge is another name for information and it gets obsolete every moment.
