Implosion in Shashi Tharoor’s favourite constituency: Karachi

Black day in Kashmir:

Kashmir is celebrating Black day today to commemorate the invasion of Kahmir by so called tribal raiders aided and abetted by newly created East Pakistan from Punjab. Interestingly Pakistan had entered into a Standstill Agreement with the Maharaja of Kashmir on August 12, 1947. but suddenly on this day that is the October 22, 1947, it unilaterally broke the Agreement and launched an invasion to forcibly capture Jammu and Kashmir using tribal raiders. The raiders, as is well known, raped, looted and pillaged the state with a ferocity that shocked the people till the Indian army came to the rescue.

Complicity of Jinnah:

Major General Akbar Khan in his book ‘Raiders in Kashmir’ explains how he diverted 4,000 military rifles of the Punjab Police transferred to the raiders. Similarly ammunition was also clandestinely diverted for use in Kashmir. There are many other books corroborating the brutal account of raid on Kashmir. Hence it is celebrated as Black day in the valley.

While Shashi Tharoor had audacity to praise this rogue estate in Lahore Literature Festival, he had no time to tweet about the Black day. Why?

The answer is obvious. It would amount to criticizing his favourite country his party created and nourished for all these years. The country where wheat is presently in short supply and being sold at Rs. 75/- a kg sugar is sold there for Rs. 125/-. Even if we discount the currency disparity, the price is still double of what these essential commodities cost in India. Therefore people are up in arms against the rulers which is the Army. There is a possibility of implosion but that will not make Shashi Tharoor to say anything as it is his favourite country. The day he made speech at Lahore LitFest, opposition parties were already coming together in Sindh province of Pakistan to protest.

What Indian Media did not show:

On Sunday 11-party anti-government Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) alliance staged a massive rally in Karachi at a jam-packed Bagh-i-Jinnah in the shadow of the Jinnah’s mausoleum. The leaders of the opposition parties vowed that their struggle would continue till the fall of Imran Khan’s government. Sindhi People’s Party ‘owner’ Bilawal Bhutto addressed the rally and compared incumbent Prime Minister with dictators in these words:

“Imran Khan should remember the past dictators. He should remember their life and fate. Your fate would not be different from them. You can never suppress people’s voice for long. The people’s anger would sweep away the government and its foundations.”

As per report in Pakistani Newspaper Dawn, this is the development which took place:

“Safdar and his wife, PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz, were in the city to attend a rally of the opposition’s Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) when he was arrested from their hotel early on Monday morning. He was subsequently released on bail. Addressing a press conference in Karachi, Bilawal said all top officers of Sindh Police were wondering “who were the people who surrounded” the Sindh police chief’s house in the early hours of Monday and took him to an unspecified location before Safdar was arrested. He also demanded to know the identities of “the two people who went inside the IG’s house” and where they allegedly took the police chief at around 4am.”

It may be noted that Maryam Nawaj’s father (Nawaj Sharif) is a fugitive living in London and her uncle (Shahbaj Sharif) is in Prison. Similarly father of Bilawal (Asif Ali Zardari) is also in prison. As regards the inspector general of police, he was kidnapped and forced to register the first information report against Maryam, her husband Safdar and 200 others for violating the sanctity of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah’s mausoleum. On the basis of this FIR Pakistan’s central forces (called Rangers) broke open the hotel room and arrested Safdar. A few hours later he was released on bail.

This is the usual theatrics of the wheat army republic named Pakistan. After every few years there is protest and sham agitations and then Prime Minister is removed. Due to sanctions of USA etc. now military does not directly step in but places one stooge after another. Courts always comply. It is said that this rally is the exit plan for existing PM, Imran and Bilawal Bhutto is being nurtured as next stooge. However the Indian media (TV) completely ignored these developments but TV news has already become irrelevant. Twitter was full of news like this:

As per one twitter post Major Amir Liaqat laid down his life during clashes with Sindh police. As regards the following news, Dawn newspaper reported that it was a gas cylinder blast.

A cylinder taking down multiple stories of a building?

Do they use hydrogen fuel in gas cylinders to make butter chicken?

The most interesting news was an explanation. Shekhar Gupta who after retirement from Indian Express has formed a news portal “The Print” is my favourite journalist who is so subtle in planting the narrative that one has to work hard and wait patiently while he spins a story on facts and than plant his narrative. He appeared on his YouTube Channel and denied that any violence was taking place in Sindh and that all is honky dory.

Now with this denial, I am not sure that it is a civilized civil war as Guptaji has put it. There could be more to it that eyes can see. But Tharoor will not speak about it. Facts are irrelevant, only narrative matters to him.
